Perhaps it has happened to you. Perhaps your computer has crashed, deleting all your data and files. Just the other month, this happened to me, and I lost everything. All of my pictures, music, word documents and movies were lost, which is not helpful when you really need them.
Before my computer crashed, I thought that I was doing everything right. I never stay weird sites that might give me a bug, and I have antivirus software installed, so I do not know how my computer got a virus.
I had to restore my computer back to the factory settings and I lost everything! I cultured my lesson and went and bought an external hard drive. I place all my information on that thinking that this is a much better choice for storing files. Well I thought it was the safest mode until I found out that these are also prone to viruses.
Suffice to say, this frustrated me to no end and I started searching for other possibilities for backup for my files. That’s when I cultured about online file storage. Even if I my laptop is stolen, I still can access my files, pictures and documents through online backup. There are many sites that offer this kind of storage, and with it, I don’t have to worry about transferring my files everywhere I go.
Basically, this means that I can access all my files and documents, no matter what computer I’m on, or where I am at. I can leave my laptop at work, and work from my home computer if I didn’t get something done.
I thought that this would be hard to gather how online backup works, but I was surprised by how simple it all was. If you’re not technologically minded, then they have step-by-step instructions. If you really cannot figure it out, then there is even an option where they will do all of the work for you. As an added bonus, everything that you store online is secure.
I was a bit skeptical with the security issue at first but after doing some research and reading I am now more comfortable with it. The files you send them are sent without encryption just like emails are. I know that in the back of my mind that nothing on the internet is safe but if eases my mind knowing that this company is doing everything they can to protect my files.
Because I don’t want my files to be lost if my computer breaks down, I signed up for online backup. If you’re like me and you spend a lot of time on your computer, then it is practically a necessity.
